Moshe Feldenkrais
The inventor of the Feldenkrais method was born in the Ukraine and left his home at the age of 13.
After receiving degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering, he earned his DSc in Physics at the Sorbonne in Paris, subsequently working a number of years with Joilet-Curie in early nuclear research.
His interest in movement began with a deep interest in martial arts, he was one of the first Europeans to earn a Black Belt in Judo in 1936.
Moshe’s own physical problems led him to a lifelong exploration of ways to improve our movement and functioning in general.
His investigations reflected his various fields of expertise and resulted in a method that is a unique synthesis of science and aesthetics. |
